baby shower gift.

this weekend i also tackled another DIY project. my awesome wedding photographers Jamie and Richie Staggs had made one of their clients a really awesome guest book, and i loved the idea. since my wedding has already come and gone :( i thought of another way i could use this cool product!
this past year i attended a baby shower for two of my professors, and at the shower we had a "wish" jar where we each write down wishes/hopes/dreams we had for the babies. as luck would have it, i have another baby shower to attend, so i thought this book would be a great way for all the guests at the party to write down their wish, and it would be a great keepsake for mom, dad, and baby!
the book and framed directions for the guests

the holders for the little slips of paper for people to write their wishes on

the slips of papers stuck into the holders

and all the extra slips for lots and lots of wishes!

this was a super easy project. all you need was a lot of cardstock, a scrapbook, a 2 inch circle punch, some double sided tape, a good paper cutter (to get straight lines) and some patience! it was a bit time consuming, but overall i think it turned out great!

weekend project.

this weekend, i wanted to get started on a project that my friend Linley had done a while a ago. the project was a DIY:Framed Chalkboard, and i loved how mine turned out! i won't go into details on how to do it, but if you would like one also, just follow the link and check out Linley's directions!
i also made a second chalkboard for my friend rhian! she had mentioned that she liked linley's and so i thought while i was at it, i would make a second one!
it's hard to tell in the photo, but it is a bright blue. hope you like it frannnnd!

spray paint.

i love spray paint. it is so handy to have around the house! it is so helpful in so many situations. i have spray painted many things in my day. at the age of 12, i think i spray painted a chest of drawers purple and green to match my room! recently i have spray painted four lams, multiple picture frames, and some accessories around the house! check it out!
i got these great frames at home goods. i found two and while i didn't hate the  color, most of our other frames are brown or black, so i thought they could use a coat of spray paint!
here is the finished product!

this same day i did these, i also got busy spray painting other things. my wonderful friend, rhian, gave us these great photo coasters for our wedding. i love these things and i was excited to put them to use! while these are great, the color of the wood (light blond) unfortunately did not match our other decor, so i once again busted out the spray paint, this time in black!

and all filled with wonderful wedding pictures in our house!
thanks, rhian, for the awesome wedding gift! i love the coasters and i'm so happy i finally (2.5 months later) got them filled with photos and out for use!
